Texel is the reason

Obligatory visit to Amsterdam complete, we hit the road for Texel. It is an island in the North Sea, accessible only by boat or plane. It is small and quiet. We stayed there for 2 nights and had the most relaxing time of the vacation. Everyone we met was shocked that Americans were there. There is a wonderful pub here. I wish I could remember the name. It was right across from one of the discos. The woman who was behind the bar knew a lot about beer and drinks. She taught us how to say danke wel. I don;t know how to spell it but it means thank you. One night the prime minister of the Netherlands came to this bar for a drink. Apparently he doesn't like it when you ask him if he is really the prime minister. At least he likes good beer. There is an outstanding brewery on this island. If you go to Texel, make sure you get the Skuumkoppe. Great stuff. One of my german buddies was embarrassed that his native land was unable to produce this.
