I saw a wind farm!

Bowling Green Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

We visited Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is in the running to be the most beautiful town in the USA. Everything from the Polka-Hotel to the weather was PERFECT!

I saw a wind farm!

On the way home, we were able to see the windmills around Bowling Green, Ohio from Route 75.  I love Bowling Green (having spent 4 years of my life there at college.)  Dad got off on Route 6, and the windmills are a few miles away at the Wood County Landfill.  It was really very neat to learn how they’re converting wind energy to electricity.   They have a nice pull off with information.  They even have a little computer set up with information run solely on solar power.  The windmills are absolutely HUGE!  I would love to have one powering my own home, but at the price tag of $2.5 million, I’ll have to wait a bit.  They really are something to see if you’re happening up or down Route 75 near Bowling Green.
