Only 17 miles into Michigan, is this really cool outdoor store called Cabela's. I'm usually only there for Christmas shopping, so it was odd to be there in the summer. They had a big tent sale (that really wasn't much of a sale.) Cabela's sells all things outdoor. Think "Bass Pro Shop" only MUCH bigger and more selection. We wandered around for a bit. I LOVE the camping section. I did purchase a book about drying foods and drooled over the multi-room tents that I think might have more living space than my house. Dad picked up a nice jacket for only $15. There are sales, you just need to look. There's a cafe that sells things like ostrich and buffalo sandwiches if you're feeling like something different for lunch. I wish I had taken the camera into the store (I say this every time but never want to lug it around) but they have very cool displays of animals. It makes me sad that they killed all these animals (hunting is kind of the theme to the store), but they are very neat to see. There’s this 2-story mountain in the middle of the store with a lake (real fish) and stuffed animals all over it (mountain lions, buffalo, wolves, birds, etc…)Cabela’s a nice chance to stretch the legs before the second half of the trip on up to Frankenmuth.
