Youngest nation in Europa. Small-Great Montenegro covers the area of 13,812km2, and has about 600.00 inhabitans. There is the sea and the peaks, the "Gorske oci" and the Skader Lake, the meadows and black rock, clear paddocks and dense forrests, a lot like Norwegiand landskaps.

St. Djordje Island

Travelling by car from Dubrovnic the journy gave us a spectaculary view of fjords and mountains.  We compared the landskape with the western parts of Norway.  The mainly hill-mountains country has a large area covered in forests and enourmous water riches (sea, rivers, lakes, mineral waters).  Climate in Montenegro is Medeterranean at the seaside, and Continental in the mountain regio with many transitions and variations.

The common thing for every part of the Adriatic coast is the beautiful sea, on the coastal shallows it is pale green, and in the open it turns into an emeral green, to become more blue and crystal clear.

St. Djordje Island is a natuaral island with a church on it of the same name. Many tragic events are related to it, Turkish riots and eartquakes, and there is a legend about the tragic love of a French solidier, who hit the house of his beloved girl while shooting at the Fortress on Perast.  After that he became a Monk and stayed at the island. There are no inhabitans on the island for some time. Another name for this island is "Island of the Dead", as there is the old Perast cemetery on it.
