Barcelona
July 15, 2007
So one day in december last year I woke up and decided I was tired of sitting on my ass and doing nothing. So I went online and the first name I saw was Barcelona. I invited some friends along, booked tickets and a hostel and that was that. I was super nervous as I did all the planning and I didn't know what would happen, plus as always there were the pre-trip drama between my friends, which I won't get into, but lets just say thats the last friggin time I plan a trip with anyone. If I'm going then I'm going, if you hear about it and you wanna come, guess what? WORK IT OUT!
Anyway
We stayed at centric point hostel which was in the heart of everything, i booked for 4 days since i was going with 5 other people (ended up being 3 other people) and I wanted that if it was a disaster that at least we were not stuck together for very long.
I got to see as much as I could, the Gaudi exhibits for one were just plain magical, me and my nerdy self was with my little note book taking notes for possible future books or as I like to call it creative works of crap.
One thing I learned from visiting spain, is those people sure know how to live, sure know how to enjoy and not sweat the small stuff. I'm hoping to adopt that same kind of attitude.
The trip in all was a sucess borrowing a little drama with the group. I definately want to go back soon.
Will upload my million pics I took at somepoint.

I stayed at Centric Point Hostel at Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona Spain. It was my first time ever staying at a hostel and I have to say I hit jackpot with this one. I was there with 3 other people is a room to accommodate 6 people.
As far as the room went, it was quite tiny, with 6 bunk beds, lockers, and private bathroom. When I made the reservations through http://www.hostels.com I had to specify that I wanted an ensuite bathroom. The room was clean, and we had the cleaning staff come in every day to clean the bathroom and sweep the floors and what not.
We took our own linens and Lysol spray, something I recommend anyone do. We sprayed the hell out of bathroom and beds. WE lined the beds with the linens provided by the hostel, sprayed those and they used our own linens on top of that.
The room also had a key card access, at night you had to show your ID to get back into the room, no lock out period, and some reception people asked for ID's during the day.
They served continental breakfast, which was cereal, yogart, toast that sort of thing.
The hostel was in the center of everything, you could go everywhere within walking distance. The metro was also right around the corner
We each paid $185 I think for the 5 days we were there.
In my opinion we got our money's worth and I would definitely stay there again. It served its purpose of giving us a safe place to stay, somewhere to safely keep our belongings, a clean shower and toilet. It wasn't the Riz Calton, but I loved it anyway.
