Final Day in Luang Prabang
December 5, 2006
For my final day in Luang
Prabang, after managing to get up, I popped by Phu Si market (Yes it's
pronounced, Pu-Sy... grow up) which was nothing special. On the way
back into town, I stopped off a few local Wats before climbing up Phu
Si Hill.
- Wat Mahathat
- Wat Hosian Voravihan
- Wat Suvannaphoum
That evening I climbed up Phu Si Hill, 3 times as I had to go to the toilet really bad and couldn't wait, BUT it was well worth the climb. The sunset was beautiful, as it set behind the mountain, making everything it touched golden orange.
After the sunset, I scurried back down and popped by to the Vegetarian buffet, and like as if it was fate, stumbled upon Stina once more. Around the table (a table literally on the streets) were many educated fellow travellers. It was trully amazing to hear such educated travellers. It was so easy going and everyone seemed to agree on the topic and always had something to say and add. There was an old lady maybe 60 years old, doing a few months backpacking on her own in SEA, she even went Kayaking for a whole day LOL. A US couple was travelling for god knows how long, but they were doing a thorough round the world trip, whilst the English guy was doing an extensive Asian holiday and possibly other areas. I'M SOOOO JEALOUS!!!! LOL
