A BBQ at the Beach

Kingston Beach Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

This started out as a blog for a holiday I took in 1998, and has turned into a running commentary of my new life in the beautiful little Australian state of Tasmania. I hope you enjoy.

A BBQ at the Beach

Jack

We are nine days into autumn here in Australia and the weather has been a bit wacky lately in Hobart. We have had snow on our mountain, cool nights and rain. However, the last week has been perfect and today was no different, so perfect in fact, some friends and I headed out to the beach for a BBQ.

I drove to my friends home to pick up her and her dog Jack, and off to Kingston Beach we went. Jack was extremely excited about going to the beach; I was not excited to have a stinky dog in the back seat of my car.

Kingston Beach was lovely, with Children playing, dogs running everywhere, bathers swimming, and people building sand castles, all sorts of beachy activities going on all around. While the boys were cooking up a storm on the BBQ, I wandered along the beach to take a few photos. Then after lunch we all took a stroll along the beach, some of us went for a swim, other kicked a ball on the beach and yet other sat on the rocks for a chat. All in all it was a perfect day.
