Valencia
The home of Valencia oranges and the birthplace of Paella!!!!
I didnt get much of a chance to get into the oranges, although the hotel did give us freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning!! Not to worry though, I definitely got into the paella and even got it served to me the spanish way...in a frypan!! I did have to ask them to leave the rabbit out though!!!
We visited the Valencia Cathedral and saw the Holy Grail (apparently)...it looked like a fairly modern cup if you ask me, but regardless I got a photo! We also climbed the bell tower for the overview of Valencia, and then decided to have a picnic lunch in the Jardin del Turia (which was once a flowing river encircling the city, prior to it being diverted). We got baguettes and enjoyed sitting in the city park! Our final activity was visiting the fruit and veg market...supposedly the prettiest in Spain, however unfortunately for us, a lot of it was under construction. We got the gist though!
Although we were only in Valencia for a few days, we still got a great feel for the city and got to soak up a lot of the culture. Nice!!
