when the 3rd largest city in latin america was completelly destroyed at that time knowed as Santiago de los Caballeros, Kingdom of Guatemala. it was called kingdom because it was the main city for populations from the peninsula of Yucatan Mexico, Chiapas, all of central america to Panama, remember Guatemala is the only country in central america, with a huge history, Santiago de los Caballeros was founded by 1543 at that time govern by spaniars decided to tranfers all of antigua guatemala people, there goods, goverment buildings, and cultural heritage to the new city, knowed today as nueva guatemala de la asuncion, or guatemala city.
