We started off the day by going to a giant Shriners parade. The parade was nothing but dudes in Fezzes and tons of small and goofy cars. It lasted an hour... it was quite entertaining. I can only imagine what the locals must have thought.

After the parade, we went to Angels Stadium.

Jared was thrilled to come take a tour of the stadium.  It's his favorite baseball team.  I think he was most excited about walking around inside the team store.

The Waterford crystal company gave a huge crystal baseball and bat to the Angels after they won the world series.  I can only imagine how much it was worth... sure was beautiful.  Also, the team players pooled money together and bought an extra World Series ring and gave it to "the fans".

.. So it's permanently on display there.

Jared seemed a little disappointed with the tour after we were done.  Truthfully speaking, if you just attended a baseball game, I think it might be just as good.  Sure, we got to go in the opposing team's locker room.. that was pretty neat.. and we walked through the tunnels and got to go in the dugout.  Definitely things you couldn't do during a real baseball game, I just don't think the tour was quite what he expected.  All the same, I know he appreciated the opportunity to do it and will remember it (and brag) for some time to come.

Later on tonight, we went to Downtown Disney so my grandparents could check out the shops.  They informed me that it's nowhere near as neat as the one in Orlando.  It's been 12 or 13 years since I've been to Disney (so shoot me.. it's a whole 2 1/2 hours away... not that i haven't wanted to go... but it's still $65 for Florida residents and I just don't have the time)... I'll take their word for it.  I sat around and watched Jared play with the magic stuff at the little kiosk for a few hours and talked to Katie on the phone.  Jared sure seemed amused at all the magic tricks the guy was doing.
