View of Chicago from Sears Tower

For some reason I thought that the elevators in the Sears tower (used to be the tallest building in the World) would be somewhat like a rocket • shooting up to the 103rd floor in super-sonic time.

Instead, I enjoyed a leisurely 60 second elevator ride up to the skydesk (412 meters high), whilst watching a short cartoon about the history of the tower. Not quite the thrill I had been expecting • although my ears did pop a little.

The views from the Skydeck, are the best views you can get of the city: you can see 40-50 miles on a clear day, and I could pick out all the major sites (with help from their little leaflet). I loved seeing all the skyscrapers and seeing how all the streets were structured into their ‘block’s in such a neat way! I loved it.

Having seen Chicago by day, I then wanted to see the city all lit up.

When night time fell, I headed to the Hancock centre to have a cheeky cocktail on the 95th floor. The views were stunning and the best views of the city were actually from the ladies toiletswhich house enormous panoramic windows.

I hope you like my day/ night photos. Enjoy!

Is one minute really that bad for 103 floors? :D
