Plan Properly: Arrive to Brig Early, or by midday. I got to Brig (the last train stop before Zermatt) at 10:30 pm. You need to take a tram to Zermatt from Brig. I'm not sure of the last tram out, but the first one out is about 6:00am.
The tram also doesn't accept Eurail, so buy a ticket in the train station prior to getting on the tram.

It's a three star hotel. And the only place with room the night I arrived. It's not half bad. I'd stay there again.
Brig is a small town. In all sense of the phrase. I saw two churches. One major shopping street. One city square. About four gas stations.
