A walk to Leura
We decided to do the 'clifftop' walk to Leura today, so we headed to Echo point where we would start our walk. 'Clifftop' is a bit missleading as most of the time we walked through forest with a few viewpoints along the way of the vast valley of trees. By the time we neared Leura Falls it had started to rain so we quickly dived into a nearby cafe/restaurant for a coffee. When the downpour had ceased we decided to make a dash for it, thinking the village of Leura was just a 10 minute walk. More like 40 minutes, made a lot longer with us sheltering under a tree from the storm. We eventually made it and ate our lunch on a bench in the town. By this point we were quite damp and couldn't really be bothered looking around the village so got on the train back to Katoomba. We had a look in one of the 2nd hand bookshops where Diane bought her next few reads - A History of the Russian Revolution by Leon Trotsky, and The Rainbow by DH Laurence - should hopefully last a while!
In the evening we decided to go out for a few beers into Katoomba, once again we were in a bar that shut at 9.30pm so headed back to the hostel.
