A long walk to Brighton

The beach huts on Brighton Beach

We headed to St Kilda today as we wanted to do the coastal walk to Brighton Beach.  It was a scenic walk passing various sea related things.  At St Kilda Marina we passed the boat yards with boats stacked three storeys high.  The first beach we came to was Elwood, a long beach with blue shimmering water.  We continued past here passing many very expensive looking mansions with fantastic views of the ocean.  We evntually got to Brighton and called to get some chips.  We sat on the front eating them with our cheese butties - fantastic!  We continued around to the main part of Brighton beach - known for its row of colourful beach huts.  Having walked 6.5km we decided to have an hour's rest on the beach before walking back.

The walk was 13km in total and well worth the effort.  We later found out that the sea is much better the further away from St Kildas you go (less pollution) and we definitely saw that, it was as clear as anything when we got to Brighon.
