... and get a new suit!
Hoi An is famous for its many tailor shops and the sound of sewing machines can be heard humming away throughout the town. We had heard that the quality of workmanship was very good so decided to have a look.
So, after a great free breakfast at the hotel, we were whisked to the hotel's tailor shop. Diane had decided to get a suit made. We went in and were looked after very well. We were sat down with a drink and given Next catalogues to choose what we wanted. Diane chose the design of a suit, Emma of a shirt. Next stop, the back of the shop for material selection then the measuring tapes were whipped out and we were swiftly measured. All very efficient. Apparently the clothes would be ready for 5pm - 6 hours later! We had a look around a few shops and the market, eventually it was just too hot and we were literally dripping so headed back to the hotel to cool off.
We later went for a drink and pre dinner snacks - Vietnam does mean spring rolls. Back just after 5pm and everything was ready, had a final fitting and that was it. We had new clothes. As you can imagine a suit isn't something that can (or should) be carried in a backpack so there would be some more parcels on the way home.
