The friendliest hostel in the world

The marina

Up and checked out by 10am, having had a bug free night (we think, we hope).  A guy called Chris from the YHA came to pick us up and gave us a quick tour of the local area on the way to the hostel.  We settled in - the room is cosy, the carpet has just been cleaned and we have an en suite bathroom.  The kitchen was extremely clean and the two managers Chris and Wendy are just fantastic - definitely the best hostel in Australia so far.

We spent the afternoon sitting in the garden of the hostel sunbathing and reading.  Later on we had a walk down to the marina, it was very peaceful and scenic.  There were lots of families out picnicing by the waterfront.  It has been good to escape the backpacker trail and spend time in places where the Australians themselves holiday.
