We wish you a merry Christmas.... etc etc
Well today was Christmas day in the sun, we had been expecting it to be cold and rainy but it wasn't to be - we had to settle for the moderate climate of increasing sunshine and 25 degrees.
After a luxury Christmas breakfast of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon we headed to the beach. As soon as we got nearer to the beach we realised that Christmas day in Bondi is a very social occasion, all of the cafe's and restaurants were open and packed. We wandered onto the beach to find it already very busy, it had a fantastic atmosphere. People were wandering about in bikini's and santa hats, there was even a surfer dressed as santa catching a wave! After a drink at one of the beach side cafe's we went back to the apartments to prepare lunch, a cold buffet lunch with a very nice bottle of bubbles we had bought in New Zealand.
Later in the afternoon we headed back to the beach to catch the last of the warm rays. It was now totally packed on the beach, it was amazing how many people were buzzing about on and around the beach.
For our Christmas dinner we had got in some fillet steaks and cooked those in our very basic kitchen along with garlic potatoes and salad, we pulled crackers and wore christmas hats - it may have been warm but it still felt quite Christmassy!
