What to do?

Day seven of thunderstorms. Yesterday we moved location on the Island. We had really liked in the south of the island - it was so chilled and laid back. How beach resorts should be. But, we wanted to check out the main area of Sairee beach on the west side of the island.
After checking out of Viewpoint resort we got onto the back of a pick-up truck to Sairee beach and had a look at some of the bungalows here. Ideally we wanted one with air conditioning as we were optimistic that it would one day be sunny again. By the time we got to our third resort we were doubtful we would be able to afford it. There is a really difference between the budget and the non budget range here. For about 3 pounds you can get a small bungalow right on the beach with balcony and hammock - but they are very basic, and as we have a real aversion to bugs (big bugs) we have tried to stay away from these. When we asked about air con bungalows they were asking for about 20 pound a bungalow - well out of our price range. We eventually found a bungalow with a fan and a hot shower for about 11 pounds - it would do.
Now amazingly the sun had come out once again, so we quickly had a shower (hot didn't work, so still on cold showers) got changed and headed out. About one hour later the cloud went grey and it was thundering and raining again! This is not good. How are we supposed to work on a fantastic tan when the weather is worse than it is in England. Apart from that there isn't much else to do during the day here other than be on the beach! Traumatic it is indeed!
Today we woke to rain once again, but this afternoon it hasn't rained at all so we are hopeful for tomorrow.
