Sunday wanderings!
We had the best breakfast yet this morning - a Mulberry Tree special - Mulberry Crepes! Even Diane ate them all!! We met a couple from England this morning at breakfast who had just arrived in Toronto, they were then going up to Montreal for a week, and then heading down to New York on the train - it sounded like an interesting holiday.
We had quite a leisurely day wandering about the city. We headed to a nice little cafe on Church St for morning coffee, this ended up being morning brunch as there was a buffet on which we couldn't resist. We walked to the bottom of Church St to book our hostel for when we return here on Thursday.
Further wanderings around the financial district (we saw the toronto stock exchange) and found a peaceful square amongst the skyscrapers to soak up the sun.
We have noticed that there are quite a lot homeless people in this city - maybe its beacause there aren't that many in Manchester that it seems to stand out to us!
After a quick wander into St Andrews Church it was proving all too much for Emma who decided that a siesta was in order! So we headed back to B & B. Diane had a further stroll around Bloor and Yorkville - the posh part of town.
In the evening we headed down to the waterfront and walked along the pier before going to Il Fornello's - an Italian restaurant. This was a post birthday celebration for Diane, so we toasted it with a good bottle of Canadian Riesling!
Had a very late night - didn't get to bed until 10.30!!
