Sleeping in the Garden shed

The Garden shed

The morning was spent cathching up with emails and wandering around Queenstown.  We got our supplies for the Routeburn Track which we start tommorow - we need food for four days and it needs to be as light as possible, so lots of cup a soups and noodles!

We travelled up to Glenorchy where we get picked up tomorrow and taken to the start of the route.  We got a cabin at Glenorchy Holiday Park, which is a bit of an exotic name for what is a collection of motley looking caravans and garden sheds.  We got ourselves a garden shed (cabin) and spent the evening sorting out our packs for tomorrow.

The Routeburn Track is one of New Zealand's Great Walks and is supposed to be extremely scenic, walking through bush, over gorges and into sub alpine mountains.  It takes 3 days to do but we are adding on an extra day to walk back along a track called the Caples Track.
