On the train

Up at 7am today in order to check in for the 9am train. It takes us two days to get to Cairns on the train and we have booked a cabin for this journey. We spent the morning in Pam and Dave's cabin as theirs is slightly bigger than ours. We are in a triple sleeper and if a third person was to join us it would be pretty cramped - fortunately nobody did. Spent the day doing as much as you can do on a train, reading, looking out of the window, eating, playing scrabble. Then at night we had our beds made up and slept in the cabin - it was much more comfortable having a cabin than sleeping in our seats.
