Union Square

We spent much of yesterday at the airport in Vancouver, was quite interesting as we had to go through customs before we got on the plane - that saved loads of time at the other end - but was a bit annoying - them American customs guys have got to be the worst anywhere, so paranoid - what did they think the purpose of 3 days in San Francisco would be??  Diane really had to hold her sarcastic tongue!  The plane journey was ok, although Emma got seriously worried when the pilot came on the mic to tell the air stewardesses to put their trolleys away due to the bad turbulance.  Arrived in San Francisco at about 5pm and it was amazingly easy to get from the airport to Union Square - just hopped on the BART (underground) and we were there.  We finally found the hostel which seems cosy with a relaxing lounge and free breakfast every morning.

In the evening we had a wander around Union Square - eating our sandwiches from the plane for tea.  The city seems really impressive - very busy with loads going on - it might equal New York as one of the best cities in the world - we shall see tomorrow!
