More city explorations

Into the city once more - there is so much to see and do in Sydney that we could easily spend most of our time here. Pam and Dave went on the hop-on hop-off city bus tour this morning. We walked over to Mrs. Macquarie's point. This is the part of the coast that juts out just past the opera house and gives great views of the harbour. We followed the coastline round to Mrs. Macquarie's Chair - this is a seat that was carved out of the rocks for Governor Macqurie's wife, so that she could sit and look out at the views of the harbour. This whole area is a prime viewing spot for the fireworks on NYE, and we could see all sorts of preparations going on ready for the big night. The preparations must be logistically mind-boggling, as they are expecting 1 million people to be in the city for NYE.
After meeting up for lunch, we got on another ferry, this time to the quiet area of Mosman Bay. It was an interesting ride into the quiet bay, looking at all the very expensive real estate dotted amongst the trees and hills of the coastline. Had a beer at the nearby Rowers' Club and watched the world go by.
Dave was chef tonight, cooking us a chicken curry back at the apartment, and then we played cards for the rest of the evening. We keep trying to persuade them to introduce some gambling into this card-playing, but they're not having any of it.
