In our room we have a television, which isn't good.  Reading has gone out of the window and we are now hooked on C.S.I!  Canadian television doesn't appear to have a watershed, for example today being halloween we were able to watch Halloween 1,2,3 and 4 starting at 9am!  Not that we did of course (well maybe one of them).  Yesterday they were showing The Exorcist at lunchtime!

Today's plan was to walk along Pacific St which follows the coastline along False Creek.  Along the way we walked through an area called Yaletown which is a trendy little area with bars and restaurants.  We walked along Pacific St just as the sun was setting, it was a very nice atmosphere with people walking their dogs, jogging and cycling - we just strolled.

We wandered back through town and somehow managed to walk past the Salvation Army hostel - for a joke we got asked if we had any spare change for heroin - it seems that this is what many Canadians in the city assume that homeless people beg for, good to see the poor still have a sense of humour!

Being Halloween, throughout the day we have seen many examples of how big it is over here - offices decorated, lots of people walking the streets dressed up.  We even walked past a group of nursery kids all dressed up and in Yaletown there were loads of people taking their kids out trick or treating.  People seem to put a lot of effort in; there were loads of houses with lit pumpkins outside - it was great, wish we had got some fake blood to smear over our faces too!

At night watched C.S.I!
