Cows
October 16, 2006
Emma had the bright idea that today we would walk to the ferry terminal
to book our tickets for tomorrow, so after breakfast that is what we
did. It was miles and miles, but we did see a deer on the way
though. We booked two foot passenger tickets to Port Hardy on
Vancouver Island. Later in the day when we finally got back into
town we headed to the laundrette and met the chattiest man in Canada
working there. He told us all sorts of places to go to in
Vancouver. We had a wander to the sea front and had lunch in a
cool little cafe called "Cowpuccinos", every place in the Cow Bay area
follows the theme of its name - even the bins and lamposts have cow
patterns painted onto them..
Took some pictures of the sunset and then back to the hostel to make tea. We got chatting with an English couple in their early 50's who had sold everything back home in Ingleton and had been travelling for the best part of a year. They said they were due home in November but weren't sure what they would do when they got there as they had no house - very exciting. They shared some of their experiences of NZ and Aus with us.
