Cable cars and slings
This morning we got up and headed out of the hostel with absolutely no intention of what to do. So we headed to the Little India MRT station and the next train was heading to Harbour Front. So that was where we went.
It turns out that this is the place where you can get a cable car over to Sentosa Island, so that was our morning decided for us. There were several other options available to us as to how we got there and we chose the cable car. It was quite high but offered great views of the island, the city and the busy port. The island itself is quite toursity, but it is still a decent place to visit for a couple of hours. It has been planned quite well and has some lovely landscaped gardens and good views of the harbour.
We didn't do anything that cost any money, just wandered around the island and it was a morning well spent.Late afternoon, we did the other necessary thing when in Singapore: we went to Raffles hotel and had a Singapore Sling. Now, we had done this before, but recently found out that we had been in the wrong bar. This time we went in the correct one - Long Bar, waded through all the monkey nut shells on the floor and enjoyed the drink with a few more people (and added to the mess on the floor). We think that they must have a huge jar of Singapore Slings made up in the back, as the amount of people that came in for them was astonishing. They must be thanking the guy who invented them. We had a little wander around the Raffles complex and then found an Italian restaurant to have a meal before heading back to the hostel.
