Bondi to Bronte Beach

Overlooking the coastline from Bondi to Bronte

Our plan for today was to get up early and walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee beach.  We wanted to do it early to avoid the midday heat.  We set off at 11.30am -just as it was getting hot.

We followed the walkway around the headland, stopping every now and then to see the waves roaring towards the rocks.  It didn't take long for us to get tired because it was really warm with the humidity.  After about 30 minutes we came to Tamarama beach (or Glamarama as the locals call it).  It wasn't very busy and it looked very inviting.  But we trudged on and soon came to Bronte Beach which was slightly bigger than Tamarama.  As we walked past loads of families were having bbq's and they smelt really good.  As we carried on we came to a stall that was doing bbq'd hotdogs - we couldn't resist - it was truly Australian - only the beers were missing.

By this time some really black clouds had started to appear so we decided to abort the rest of the walk and get the bus back to the city.  This we did and then called in at the cinema to see the new James Bond film 'Casino Royale' - it was very good and Daniel Craig played the role very well.

Later on we grabbed a bottle of wine and went for tea at a Thai restaurant on Glebe Point Rd - once again it was a cheap but great meal.
