After a 9 hour flight on the wonderful Thai Airways (comes a close second to Singapore Airlines) we arrived into the brand new airport in Bangkok. After a long hike through to immigration we were given our visas, quickly got our baggage and into the arrivals hall. It was manic. Hundreds of people waving signs (none for us) and trying to get you in a taxi. A very nice Thai man wrote our hotel name in Thai and pointed us in the direction of the public taxis downstairs. We soon negotiated a price and off we went for a seatbeltless, white knuckle, 130km/ph ride to the city - welcome to Bangkok!
Our hotel was very good and a little oasis in the middle of all the chaos. It was 4am Australian time (midnight in Thailand) so we just went to sleep.
