Another day of local travel

Sunset in Inhambane

Today we unfortunately had to leave for good, despite Steph tempting us with sticky toffee pudding.  We wandered into town and found the minibus we needed to catch.  After the usual hanging around and waiting for the bus to fill up we set off, picking up a few more as we went, just to make sure we had no room whatsoever.  We thought we were travelling chicken free today but were mistaken.  Suddenly we heard this terrifying squawk, after checking it was none of the babies we discovered a chicken, well hidden under one of the seats.  At one point it made a dash for freedom but was quickly retrieved and thrown back into the bus, choosing to rest at our feet.

We arrived into Maxixe four hours later and left the chicken to its fate.  We wandered and got onto the local ferry across the bay to Inhambane.

We booked our bus for tomorrow to Maputo, and had an early night.  The bus leaves at the ridiculous time of 4.30am!
