A short city break
Up and out of the hostel by 5.45am, passing a few Saturday night casualties on our way out. On the streets we were expecting it to be quiet at this time on a Sunday morning - it was like Friday night in Oldham. Loads of people out on the streets, piling out of clubs and bars, and we had to fight through with two rucksacks each and a shopping bag between us - it got quite tricky! We got to Kings Cross Station and got the tube to Sydney Central where we got on the train to Brisbane. We got off the train at just after 6.30pm and then got on a bus for 3 hours - it was an epic journey. Eventually we arrived at the bus station in Brisbane and wandered to the hotel just around the corner where Emma's mum and dad were waiting outside. It was a happy reunion. We booked in and got to our room and caught up on everything. Pam ordered some food from room service and we had a beer. We chatted until about midnight and then tiredness set in, we had all been up since 5.30am so needed to sleep.
