Today started out more than just lazy. We slept until 1:30pm before we could finally get up and out on the Hamburgean streets. Our first stop was an Internet café not too far away, but it was quite a journey and adventure to get there as we didn’t really have a map. Finally after almost a week we got to check our mails again.

Unfortunately I had forgotten the batteries of my digicam so we had to go back get them (it was only 20min detour) before we went to the Alster.

We rented a paddleboat and started across the Alster. It was warm but with a slight breeze and the water was wonderfully calm. A lot of sailors were out on the “lake” and the Feenteich and we saw pretty views from the city around us. After one hour our feet got tired so we went back to walking again.

At the Rathausmarkt we got some great delicious ice cream before we went to Landungsbrücken, to go to the old Elbtunnel. We went downstairs and then the 450m under the Elbe river to the other side, where the view was marvellous. We really enjoyed that and even saw the cruise ship Aida far on the other side at the Hamburg cruise center dock.

On our way back home we stopped by a shoe shop and at the Binnenalster to enjoy the view one more time as the downgoing sun made a really nice lighting.
