skiing, a Christmas tradition

Ok so it's not some exotic far off land but, this is some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen. Here in our very own backyard! Some of these places are nothing more than a town to pass by on the way to a more exciting place for most people. However I see much beauty in these places, to me these are the heart and soul of America.

skiing, a Christmas tradition

on the way to the mountains
Every year that we go to Colorado Springs for Christmas we take a few days of our vacation and head to Breckenridge, going skiing is another tradition we have when we visit the family in the Springs.  Usually the whole family heads up there for some skiing one day and shopping the next day.  This time it was just my husband and I without the kids, my brother in law with his fiance, and one of my sister in-laws.  We had so much fun skiing and then partying afterwards!  The skiing is nice, but I think next time we go I am going to try out snowboarding though.  It looks like so much fun.  We would have tried it this time, but the boys at the skii shop recommended taking lessons first since none of us had ever done it, and we just weren't  going to be there long enough.  Anyways, after one full day of skiing then drinking afterwards, we tried to head to the hot tub as we have done in the past and wouldn't you know it the hot tub was closed by 10pm!  I guess we stayed out partying too long this year!  Oh well, at least we got to do some shopping in the next day before heading out!
