San Juan- busy on the weekend.

We arrived at San Juan del Sur on wednesday from Ometepe. On the recomendation from a british couple we have been staying at a small hostel run by a nica women named Marta. The place is nice and very clean (Marta usually has a mop or broom in her hand) which is not what we have been used to. The first day here went to a beach 12 km north of San Juan (nice beach, big waves).  Later that night we signed up for a turtle tour which consisted of walking a beach south of San Juan. No turtles were seen, however, so at 1:00 am we headed back to town (minus 50$). We actually knew it was not the season for turtles, but the tour company said that they had been nesting. He decribed the run as "rare event", which I guess must have been true. When we got back to town at 2:00 am we both started to feel sick (i think we ate cinnamon buns that the baker coughed on, but Amy thinks it was from a fellow turtle tourist). We just had head colds but that was enough for us to spend almost 2 days sleeping in the hostel (Amy was more of a trooper than I was as she did go to the beach yesterday).  Today feel better but have been coughing at each other. We spent some time at the San Juan beach, mostly watching the locals play soccer. Were headed to Managua tomorrow and plan on doing some shopping in Masaya (supposed to have the best market in Nicaragua).
