A quick and impromptu dash to the Amazon jungle (from Quito) was made possible when Sani Lodge responded to my call :)

The most beautiful place on earth

As you arrive to the magical lagoon by canoe the first thing that hits you is the serenity.
The sun was setting and everything sparkled in its natural state, the feeling of purity, harmony and life was permeating all round.
The local guides are true experts in the surrounding rainforest; there own enthusiasm and love for the habitat is contagious, the long bush walks were more than facinating, mind blowing! the fresh oxygen, the birds! the monkeys! the lizards, the insects, the various trees, pods, seeds.. and their medicinal properties Wow! Its was just one of the most amazing experiences ever. And the longer you stay there the better you feel, connected with it all. There were also night excursions in the canoe, spotting caimans with flashlights, & visits to the Sani community who pride themselves as the caretakers of the land, living in harmony as there ancestors did. So much wealth and knowledge, I am in absolute awe!

I would highly recommend the camping option, although you have to ask for it, rather than staying in the lodging. Its a short canoe ride from the main area and you sleep amongst the trees and exotic sounds - the tents themselves are elevated & housed under a wooden structure. So its really 5 star camping, with full facilities too.
