that's me in the yellow

Cozumel is where I became a certified diver.  Although it took away from the vacation a little, since I was in a classrom setting for all of one day.  I did not get to see the sites everyone else in my group got to enjoy that day.  However it was not a total loss, and when it came to the diving it was all worth it!  The diving was amazing comfortable water temperatures, clear blue water as far as the eye can see, and tons of colorful marine life!  Our dive guide took us to Palancar reef, which is great for begining divers only getting to about 40ft.  On my dive our guide showed us where an eel, obviously familiar to the guide, made it's home.  To my surprise the guide motioned to me to come down and kneel on the bottom with him, once down there he motioned me to pet the eel.  I immediatly abliged and therefore I left that dive with the experience of having touched an eel!  We also saw some nurse sharks, I pet one of those too(what was I thinking?)  I got several pictures to remember my experience forever.  I did not miss out on all the sight seeing and shopping, I also got to do that.  As well, I got to enjoy the night life to the fullest!  Cozumel is definatly one of the best places for beginer divers as well as people with small pocketbooks.  Since the whole vacation was enjoyed for about $2000.

we stayed at Fiesta Americana Cozumel dive resort, here is a link to them; http://www.resortvacationstogo.com/Hotel/Fiesta_Americana_Cozumel_Dive_Resort.html

I did notice they have a better rating now than when we went so, they may have increased their prices now, lol! They include meals as well as activities. I really liked the place when we were there, but it has been 10 years since the last time we were there to stay. I went there last year in 07, but it was thru a cruise. vacationstogo.com has several more options on all inclusive places as well, good luck!
