...but this was just the warm-up to our next leg of the trip!  Try a 6,500 mile flight to take us a place 16 time zones away from Atlanta.

We had taken the awesomeness of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport for granted until we arrived at LAX.  What a miserable first impression we had.  I believe we spent more time trying to figure out where we're supposed to go than we did actually going.  Once we found the check-in counter for Air New Zealand the fun began.  Apparently their computer system has a habit of making more assumptions than it really needed to and it thought I was arriving with checked baggage on a United flight from Chicago.  There is another Sheldon Smith on our 12 1/2 hour flight from LAX to Auckland, New Zealand.  The good news is a Boeing 747 has a capacity of 325 but only 140 seats have been purchased.  That means each one of us has an entire row to ourselves.  Who needs to pay the first class rate for a fully reclining bed?

Well, we board in a little less than two hours for our longest flight of this voyage.  Wish us luck!
