Travel to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa
June 22, 2007
After a nice breakfast at L' Andana we continued our travel in direction to our new hotel "Castello del nero" (see below!).
We decided to stop at a great restaurant called "Arnolfo Ristorante" which is awarded with one michelin star and located on our routing to the north. It was a bit difficult to find the restaurant, because we didn't have a map with us, but asking the people on the street was efficient and lead us to our destination.
For detailed information about "Arnolfo" have a look at the review below.
After our (3 hour) lunch, we headed towards Castello del Nero situated in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
After check-in and relaxing at the pool (it was a long travel!) we went for dinner at the hotel's terrace. They offered a starter buffet and fresh prepared BBQ seafood like prawns, salamon, ... followed by a nice dessert buffet.
In a nutshell, the food was good but the price-performance ration wasn't that good. To finish our last dinner in Italy we took coffee at the bar.
Because our fried had to write some interesting things about the hotel in his magazine, the PR-lady (a friendly German NRW-Lady) showed us arround the hotel with all facilities and the nice suite, after our dinner (late at night!). We got all information we needed for the magazine and enjoyed our last night at our modern looking rooms, already preparing ourselves for our return flight to Austria.
We enjoyed it a lot here. A great place to relax!

Ristorante Arnolfo is a very small top restaurant in an old and renovated building in Colle di Val d'Elsa, near Siena. Because they only offer arround 6 tables (for four persons) it is very familiar. The ambience is calm with quiet and relaxing music. Staff is friendly but seems not very motivated sometimes.
Food is great as you see on the pictures below. Yummy! A dream comes true!
