I briefly visited Montreal in the summer of 2006 for a few days and I also went white water rafting on the River Rouge in Quebec, visited the aquarium Thousand Islands between Canada and USA.

Montreal is a huge city and there are many different things to do in a city full of from what i have seen such different people. People with american accents and french accents. Amongst many things we did was go to watch the world fireworks championships at the Canadian version of six flags theme park which was the best fireworks show i have ever seen. Although Montreal is a very busy city, it is also a very unfriendly city in terms of the people, and im not sure whether it has anything to do with the fact they speak French but the people we did meet, felt like anything they did to help us was like a chore. Very selfish and unfriendly people. However, this does not reflect on the fact that all french quebecan people are nasty people. When we went to the River Rouge which is approx. 60 minutes from Montreal for some white water rafting, the guides were very friendly, funny and fun to be around people. The scenery was out of this world, surrounded by forrests and mountains and very fast flowing water the white water rafting was brilliant and if you have never done it before, i thoroughly recommend it.
