Feria de San Telmo

Buenos Aires Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I'm studying at La Universidad Catolica Argentina in Buenos Aires from July to December 2007 and this is some lame blog I'm trying to write for friends and family to help document my stay there as well as any sporadic jaunts elsewhere that may occur. Who knows? Hahahaha, see that's the thing...I don't even KNOW. So, in the words of an old cowboy who once knocked me over the head with a beer stein in a bar in El Paso, Texas: "I have a blog. I invite you to read all about my feelings."

Feria de San Telmo

Every Sunday in San Telmo, one of the very oldest barrios in Buenos Aires and close to downtown, there's a huge street fair on Calle Defensa that runs from Avenida Belgrano all the way to Plaza Dorrego. It's famous for the antiques sold there, but there's also a huge number of amazing street musicians and performers, as well as all sorts of artisans selling their crafts. Now that the weather is finally a little warmer the fair is so much better. The energy from the musicians and the crowd of people is incredible. Going at dusk was a cool experience.
