Kapok Tree, very strange.

We started today by taking the Trolley around the island. There are several stops and it basically takes you all the way around the island, and points out different sites. It was nice to see the island, but a little expensive for the size of the place. But in order to get acclimated we were happy to take the tour. We could get off and on all day, which was also nice.

We shopped and bought some t-shirts and whatnot. There are definitely a lot of little shops, mostly with the same stuff. Lots of art on one end of the main street (DUVAL) and lots of tourist crap on the other.

We ate lunch at the Island Dogs Café. No dogs were seen. Our meals were fine, nothing to write home about.

Wish You Were Here.
The menu there was very small. We ate dinner at Alice’s. Andy had the Key Lime Pie and said that it was very good. He had the tempura too, he said that was okay. I had the meatloaf and it was excellent. Service was good too. Andy and I sat next to a young couple, and we think that they were newlyweds. They looked so young, and this was a pretty expensive place, and we both had the same thought. We left, and paid for their dinner as we went. They were very appreciative and left their number so that they could say thanks, but we haven’t called them. It was good just to hear their reaction from the bartender.

We went swimming at the hotel pool, and it was very refreshing. Warm for some, I liked it well enough. We were dry before we got out I think. It’s been hot here too.

We went to the sunset party at Mallory Square. It was BORING! They say that it’s like a carnival and there are lots of vendors and entertainers, it was nothing really that exciting, and the sunset was not good at that location as it set on the other side of some homes on what looked like another island.
