Travelling overland from Colombia to Brazil in 4.5 months of mayhem!

Wicked Surfy Town!

We arrived in Trujillo and took a taxi to the smaller fishing village of Huanchaco, about 15mins out of Trujillo. We liked it instantly. It´s an attractive town with mainly paved wide roads, really nice beachfront and plenty of restraurants. It is also known for it´s reed boats which the local fisherman still use to this day, and also as a good surf spot (so plenty of surf lessons on offer)! Although it´s a bit too cold for us to take any lessons, maybe next time!

We took a walk down the beach, it´s nice and laid back here. We walked up and down looking for a restaurant our guidebook highly reccommends only to find out that apparently it doesn´t exist anymore. Well, that was a good hour of exercise anyway I guess...

We did find a restaurant and ordered pizza, we splashed out and spent about $20NZD (a very rare occurance)! Nathan is super happy because where we are staying has a TV and DVD player so we got some movie watching in, all set for tomorrow to see some ruins (finally)!
