Quiet Day in Banos
Got up a little earlier than usual this morning so we could walk up to the Statue of the Virgin. Was a good steep climb up the hill (and a very very windy one at that also)! With hearts pumping we could admire the view,... long enough to get sick of the sand and dust swept into our faces and lunch to decide to head back. We also met a dead scorpion on the way down aswell... rather pleasant!
The plan was to visit the hot pools which is primarily what Banos is famous for (hence Banos means bathroom in Spanish) but alas, we bought some DVDs for $1.25 each and were set for the afternoon (after the buying of Taffy which is famous jaw breaking toffee in these parts... and cheap and delicious)!
After watching ´Evan Almightly´ we headed out for some dinner at Casa Hood. This place is legendary. So far this is the BEST restaurant we have visited, and their chocolate milkshakes are to die for. God we will miss them... and the fact that their meals are about $4USD! We were also lucky to have a local band come in and play. They are amazing, and we bought their CD aswell for some chill out music when we get home.
Off to Cuenca tomorrow! Yeeha!
