We have been in Buenos Aires for the last few days now and done nothing but shopping - visiting the shopping malls is kind of like sightseeing isn´t it? Well for me it is anyway!
We went out to Unicenter, the largest shopping center in South America with 300 shops, 14 cinemas, a bowling alley and god knows what else. We didn´t see a lot because it was so busy with christmas shoppers but we did manage to catch a movie, and I got to buy lots of jewellery. Oh it´s love. Although to be perfectly honest I don´t find the clothes shopping that great so am waiting until I come home for that.
Christmas was spent getting up, packing and moving to another hostel. We got a hotel room for half the price of what we were paying and it was nicer and had cable TV! We spent most of the day watching it and catching up on the latest shows before wondering out to Plaza Italia and wandering through the parks.
We then went to the famous cemetery of Recoleta where Evita Peron is buried. The cemetery is rather amazing, some tombs though unfortunely have been vandalised - their doors kicked in and it´s obvious people have been inside. Not too sure if they have robbed them but it´s sad to see them, especially when you can peer in and see up to 18 coffins in one family tomb. Kind of grisly.
It was the Hard Rock Cafe for Christmas dinner and was pretty good, huge meals as always, and back for more cable TV!
