White sand sunrises, clear blue cenotes, pink flamingos, Mayan feasts -- and yes, they are worth the 90 mosquito bites I suffered.

If my last blog, from living in San Francisco, was called My Life is Not Full House, I guess this one should be My Life is Not Friends. Or Seinfeld. Or NYPD Blue, thank god. That would be weird. Anyway, I just moved to the Lower East Side, Manhattan. It costs me two arms an a leg every month and smells like puke ever weekend. But most days, I love it.

OK, you know that San Francisco you see in the movies? Where people with questionable income live in cute little victorians and travel across the golden gate bridge constantly (Why are they going to Marin, anyways?)? And everything is clean? Yeah, that's not me. I live in the Mission where it's flat and dingy and full of burritos. It's fabulous. Anyway, this is a collection of stuff that happens in SF, as well as summary collections from my travels.

Once upon a time there was a little blond girl named John Muir and a little asian girl name Teddy Roosevelt and they went hiking, camping, kayaking and roadtripping all over California, but mostly in a special place called Big Sur.

Travelling solo in Thailand and Cambodia for Christmas and New Years 2007/2008. Crocs, bat caves, waterfalls, kayaks, helmetless moto riding, and some of the prettiest sunsets and sunrises ever.

Shorter trips across the USA and Canada (and hopefully someday Mexico): Everglades, Montreal, New York, Flagstaff, Sedona, Scottsdale, New Orleans and the Louisiana/Mississippi countryside.

Flying into Panama and out of Belize in 2 weeks? We can do it... if flat tires, angry mosquitos, bandit prone buses, travel sickness and lava don't stop us first.

We were supposed to be stalking polar bears in northern Norway. Instead, we found ourselves ducking fireworks in Prague, chowing down on sausage in Vienna, strolling on the Danube and hitchhiking in bigrigs across Austria-Czech borders

I sometimes wonder if I had never gone to Peru, if I'd still be happy in my little cubicle, happily tip tap typing for The Man. But somewhere paragliding over the cliffs of Lima, or listening to the rain pour down in the middle of the Amazon, or watching the fog lift over Machu Picchu, everything changed.
