it's a good backpackers bar so if you go to cairns you have to go there at least once. but sometimes its a hit n miss. one night you might have a blast, the next it might be kinda lame. but they have cool fish races with funny fish like "SUSHI" from Japan! good entertainment-haha.

The woolshed in Cairns is one of the best places to slurp up some frothy beverages with the locals. Cairns in general is a second home for backpackers and tourists of all kinds. This place is very quaint, with a restaurant on the bottom floor and the bar/nightclub on the upper level. Once the dinner rush is over all hell breaks loose in this place, which is one of the craziest bars that I have ever been to. They have a pretty good sized dance florr with tables all over the second floor that people are encouraged to dance on and believe me they do! During the week they have many different events from free alcohol to wet t-shirt contests. All and all it is a great place to visit when in Cairns!

The woolshed is so much fun. Its fun, dancing, and drinking. Lots of interestng people. My sister and I went everynight we were Cairns. I meet people all over that have been to the woolshed in Cairns.

Only place ive been in Cairns buddy. Aimed squarely at backpackers. they play all sorts of music and do really cheap beer until 11 so get there early. Then its all sort of drinking games and competitions. If you like a laugh and a bit of a meat market its great, good fun. Not for serious clubbers or for the shy and retiring, but if your up for it this place is tops. Enjoy!!!

After catching the morning ferry back into Cairns, we boarded the more traditional style Contiki coach and met Paul, our driver for the remainder of the tour. YAY halloween woohooo. In the morning/afternoon we went to the lagoon for a tan and swim and then got back and had to figure out what to wear for halloween! We were told where the local second hand shop was so we went over there and bought ours…Woolshed. It was waaay better there. There were heaps of people dressed up! We had sooo much fun. There was a big group of footy guys from Sydney we hung out with for a bit. Also I saw some other dude dressed like a hillbilly… its Halloween baby!! |

Yay finally the start of the east coast! This was one of the things I'd been looking forward to all year. We stayed at Gilligans hostel in Cairns, which is an amazing hostel, I recommend it to everyone. We had a 8 bed dorm that had an ensuite bathro…drank on our balcony for a while and then went out at about..midnight maybe. We went over to a bar called Woolshed, which was really fun and we stayed there for a bit and then me and Steph went back to our hostel. Lindsay came later.. … The start of our east coast trip! |

I woke at 6am after a long sleep and got out of bed to quietly potter about. As I was sorting through my stuff it occurred to me that I only had 2 days left before I was flying out of Cairns and I had not yet seen Cape Tribulation up there nor arran…Woolshed and then took a bottle of champagne her ex had left her down to the Cairns lagoon and sat with our feet in the water chatting till it was time to catch her bus. We arrived intoCairns and safely met up with James and Jane at Cairns airport. We were picked up by the hostel and headed to JJ's backpackers which was very orange but welcoming.
In Cairns we mainly chilled out by the lagoon which went right up to …Woolshed, which I think everyone does when they goto Cairns as they offer free meals to backpackers. They also put on goldfish races which are surprisingly entertaining,
