the aptly named stumble inn, is situated only a couple of minutes walk from the main square in the town centre of Stellenbosch, and is split into 2 buildings. 1 has the bar, and pool table, and internet etc, while the other(2 doors up the street) has the swimming pool. Both parts are secure, and have a good party vibe. The facilities are average, but as you'll spend most of your time here sampling local wines & ciders u probably won't even notice. The staff are friendly & helpful, and become more like friends/fellow travellers than staff :) There's also a great Braai to chuck half a pig on an feast the nite away on with before the clubs open ;)

…the outskirts we were beginning to wonder what was so good about the place, but as we pulled up to our hostel, the aptley named stumble inn, in the centre of town we started to understand. There's a very relaxed atmosphere here at whats usually a town flooded by students. The whole tour last from 1030am to 5pm and it takes us to 4 wineries for 350Rand (S$70) We stayed at a hostel call Stumble-Inn, very appropriate for this occasion.
There were 4 dutch girls in the group and a couple , Jess and Richie from melbourne. Overall, the winetasting was good but the company was not great! The Dutch girls were unfriendly, fat, rude and rough and basically… Day 22 -23 - Stellenbosch |
