the highest cliffs in europa; acantilados en la serra da capelada

los acantilados en la serra da capelada or the cliffs in the mountains of capelin are the highest cliffs in the continent of europa. they are more than 600-700 meters in height. it is located between the towns of cedeira and cariño in galicia, spain.

the cliffs are the center of many myths of love and death and according to legends that you will either visit it in life or in death and the ancient greeks named it as the green country of the west where the end of the ancient world is located - finisterra or ends of the earth.

the cliffs are both mystic and enigmatic. you feel you are standing in one of the most powerful force in the universe.

it is very windy and stormy even in high summer, you can see the high waves pounding on the rocks with all the forces of natures anger are behind them and beyond is the endless sight and horizon of the tempestous atlantik ocean. the feeling is majestic but spiritual at the same time.

simply beautiful.

it is very hard to reach the cliffs as there are no public transportation to acces them. we had 2 cars to bring us all to the cliffs. but i am sure, there are pathways from cedeira to access these magnificent cliffs, the cliffs which were created by a being beyond our greatest and wildest imagination.
