the Flying Pig Backpackers Amsterdam Travel Reviews

Best value for your bed, breakfast and parties in Amsterdam Mar 29, 2008
After working in this place for over 3 years I see myself as a pretty trustable person to give you a good review about this place.

There are 2 Flying Pig Backpacker hostels in Amsterdam.
They are both located in the centre.
The Flying Pig Downtown is located near the train station, so very easy to get to and from when you have an early train/flight.
The Flying Pig Uptown is located a bit further into the centre, about 15 minutes from the train station by tram, near the Leidseplein, which is a good place to party.

Both hostels are known for their easy going staff, good music, great parties, cheapest beer in town, a good place to find new travel mates and so on.

We all know what Amsterdam is known for, smoking is legal.
Amsterdam has over 200 coffeeshops.
Because alot of travellers find this so interesting they come and visit the city and want to try it out.
It is also allowed to smoke in the hostels, but only in the common areas.
This sometimes is a reason for some backpackers to not stay at this place. But then again.. you are in Amsterdam, the city that never sleeps and where you always get lost.

The rooms are very clean. They have private rooms, 4,6,8,10,12,14,16,20 and 32 person dorms. The private rooms have either a 2 person dorm or 2 separete beds. the shared dorms all have bunk beds and the 4 and 6 have an ensuite bathroom.

Yes they are both big hostels but you won't notice when you are sitting back in one of the barstoels at the craziest bar in town.
The bar is open all day till the early hours of the next morning.
they have live DJ's, sometimes even a band!

Reception is open 24 hours so you can always come and go.

Both hostels are near good bars, shops and museums.

These places are booked out though, most of the days all year around!
So make sure you book in time!!
