we met during his trip to Hawaii in april 2012, after talking briefly on travbuddy prior to his trip. we drove around to see some sites, and had some good talks.

I wish i could have such a positive outlook on life as he has and have that special happy attitude that he has. I was sad to leave Hawaii, but part of that was because i wanted a chance to hangout with Bruno more before he left. he is very relaxed and open to whatever comes his way, which makes it easy to play tour guide :) I didn't feel stressed, as it seems that meeting people and having good conversations is just as important to him as site seeing(mixing the 2). I had always considered visiting Boston one day, now i have more reason to. Bruno is one of those genuinely good people in life and nothing fake about him in my opinion, and the type of person you look forward to seeing again someday. It was a pleasure to meet you my friend!

Fathi is a cool guy. He's quick in making decisions and has no fuss over anything at all and that makes coming to mutual agreements very fast. Fathi is spontaneous in offering help. He knows just what to do in most situations. There were situations where I needed to discard my torn IDR100,000.00 note through purchases and also get help from a random telco shop to register my mobile phone SIM card after purchasing it from a mart which didn't offer after sales service. Fathi, being a gentleman, handled both situations for me and I was very grateful. But then, he'd 'complain' that I made him do all the dirty jobs, LOL! Nah.. he was just sayin' it ;O) Fathi also has a very good sense of direction. He claimed that to be a guy thing. He's a friendly person and has made lots of friends during his holidays. If you want to look for a surf mate, you may look Fathi up!

I met Hieu on the second leg of my trip in Paris. We traveled back to Barcelona together.

Hieu was a fantastic tour guide. I had my trip in Barcelona planned out, but didn't know what to do in Paris. Since, Hieu has lived in Paris before, he was able to show me around and introduce me to a lot of sites I probably would have never thought to go to on my own. He has an outgoing personality and is super easy to get along with. I would definitely travel with him again.

He is a nice and frendly man with a big smile. It was very plesant to meet him and to talk with him.

We made arrangements prior to his trip to Paris and we meetup in Paris and shared a hotel together and explored several of the popular sites.

Because he is a very thoughtful, funny, intelligent person who you will enjoy being around on your adventures. Never while I was around him did I feel awkward it was like we knew each other before we met in real life because we took the time to skype before the actual meet up.

Jen helped me with many tips on my first travel to SEA and in return I tried to help her on her planned trip to Korea during the biggest holiday season(Chuseok) in Korea. I did not expect to meet her since she had plans to visit her home town during the long holiday weekend but fortunately for me, she had change of plan and instead organized a TB meetup with local TBs for several visitors from the States.

As you can sense from her profile, Jen is a very active TB member, making real and substantive contributions to the community, always willing to help with well thought-out suggestions and thoughts. Thanks to her and other TBs, I was able to experience some of the areas that I didn't expect to visit during my first trip to KL. She was easy to talk to and full of positive energy for travels and life. It was contagious so despite the heat and sun during the tour of several sites, I had great time learning about Malaysia, its political system and territories and states that make up the federation that is Malaysia.

If you are making plans to visit KL, reach out to Jen. Also, you will learn a great deal just by reading her blogs and reviews. If you have a chance to meet her, take it. Your travel will be more enriched by it.

I met Soonthiam during my trip to Kuala Lumpur. Several active local TBs arranged a meetup for visiting TBs from the States on a short notice.

You cannot ask for more from a TB meetup experience. Soonthian braved the heat and the intense tropical sun to take me on a tour of some sights out of City center. I rode with him on his car leading an entourage and chat about things more related to life than travel but it was filled with gem. Had I met him a few decades earlier, I might have avoided a few mistakes in my life:) I'd love to catch up with him again hopefully sooner than later when we cross paths again on our travels in the future. Meantime, you should consider yourself very very lucky if you are blessed with an opportunity to spend some time with him when you are in Kuala Lumpur. I met rroy in Ghent Belgium on April 2, 2012. He was nice enough to show me around the college area of town. We had Belgian frites and beer, and I appreciate that he took the time to show me a lesser known area of Ghent and discuss his experience of living and travelling in Europe.

She and I were on the same cruise ship in May 2012.

She is a delightful woman, very friendly, and energetic. I enjoyed my conversations with her and I loved her natural curiosity about the world and about life!
