This area is great for sight seeing and such, however, my favorite place here is the ferry plaza. They have the best gourmet cheese shop and chocolate shop.
There's also a really awesome farmers market on tuesdays and saturdays that sells some of the best organic produce out there.

It is imperative to arrive before 730 am. Arriving early means that you beat the tour buses. Morning at Petra is quiet, calm, and peaceful...you can drink tea at The Treasury or have a leisurely breakfast in front of some ruins.
